A recruitment, consisting of a job interview or recruitment interview, is an interaction between a person who wants a job and a person who is hired, to assess whether the person should be hired.

 

Difference between job interview and recruitment interview

The difference between a job interview and a recruitment interview depends on which side of the desk you sit on during the interview. An interview is a job interview for job seekers and a recruitment interview for employers.

A typical structure of an interview is as follows:

  • 5 minutes

    Welcome and small talk

  • 15-25 minutes

    Presentation and questions to the candidate in relation to the position.

  • 5-15 minutes

    The candidate has the opportunity to ask questions and round off the interview.

Most interviews tend to fit a general pattern and will last 30-45 minutes, although some may be longer.
